Franklin D. Azar & Associates, P.C
DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. (a division of Johnson & Johnson) is recalling two hip-replacement products that have been found to have higher-than-expected rates of patients needing a second hip-replacement procedure – or revision surgery. Revision surgery is needed when an artificial hip doesn’t fit properly, is causing pain, and the patient has difficulty walking.
Within five years, one in eight patients needed a revision surgery. That’s required when an artificial joint doesn’t fit perfectly and causes pain and difficulty walking. The products being recalled are the ASR Hip Resurfacing System and the ASR XL Acetabular System.
There have also been complications with another DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. product with similar complications. DePuy Pinnacle Ultamet Hip Systems have also caused patients pain, difficulty walking and potential exposure to metalosis (metal poisoning).
If you are experiencing pain from your Johnson & Johnson (DePuy) hip replacement please call now. There is a time limit and you may be entitled to a cash award.
