Many Americans have experienced pain and loss of range of motion following shoulder replacement surgery. Many of the prosthetic shoulders on the market have been found to have high complication rates. The most common complications seen with these devices are fracturing of the device, pain, inflammation and tissue damage at the implant site. These complications cause the patient significant pain and frequently the device has to be replaced. This forces the patient to undergo another painful and expensive replacement surgical procedure.
