A recent statistic has been released that an average of 22 military veterans commit suicide each day in the United States. This is a very serious issue, and a JAMA Psychiatry study that was published on May 15, 2013 has revealed that there may be a link to veterans who suffered multiple traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are more likely to commit suicide than the general population.
Incurring several TBIs is a reality for combat veterans, and up until now no one was sure whether or not that contributed to the increased likelihood of suicide.
