Jon Neil Barclay

Jon Barclay was born in Trinidad, Colorado in 1951. He received his B.A. from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1973 and his J.D. in 1977. Jon was admitted to the Colorado Bar and the Colorado U.S. District Court in 1977. He is also licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. He was a Deputy District Attorney for the 3rd Judicial District in Trinidad, Colorado from 1977 to 1980. He was a Deputy District Attorney, 5th Judicial District in Breckenridge, Colorado from 1980 to 1983. He was appointed District Attorney, 3rd Judicial District in April 1988 and was reelected three times, from 1984 through 1995.
He has prosecuted all criminal matters, handled civil forfeitures, and administrative appeals. Jon has extensive trial experience with over 500 jury trials. Jon Barclay has been an attorney with Franklin D. Azar & Associates, P.C. since May, 1995. His areas of expertise include personal injury, criminal law, and employment law. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Southern Colorado Bar Association, a former member of the National District Attorney Council, and the Colorado District Attorney’s Council. Representative clients include City of Trinidad and Greibach Corporation.
